Teacher Jackie Flaherty and student Jess Gregg from Chipping Campden School spoke to us this month about the exciting climate change project they are involved in.
Jackie Flaherty introduced the project that the students have been involved in. The students have taken advantage of the lockdown and have been engaged on an 8 week training programme offered by Climate interactive and MIT Sloan using the En-ROADS climate simulator.
Jess Gregg then took us through the project they had designed, which led them to being chosen as one of only 5 schools to present their projects at The TEDx Global Youth Countdown.
The group of Students at Chipping Campden School have designed an educational programme for younger students to engage them in the problem of climate change, this involves a master class for younger students and a bronze, silver and gold awards scheme, incorporating a student passport, where they can gain their awards from simple everyday climate aware actions, to doing their own scientific research into climate change.
This was an excellent and informative talk. well done to all of the Chipping Campden students involved in the project.
